As to Merdanov, Dagestan will receive two million tourists in 2025. This projection follows the encouraging figure of 1.8 million visitors recorded in 2024.

Sergei Melikov, the governor of Dagestan, previously disclosed that over 600 thousand tourists chose vacations along Dagestan's Caspian Sea coastline in 2024. This surge in coastal tourism aligns with recent observations from Sergei Romashkin, the vice president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), who noted a significant rise in interest for beach vacations in Dagestan this year.
