The "Tastes of Russia" culinary festival, held annually at the VDNH exhibition complex and drawing over 1.5 million visitors, has commenced its festivities. This year, from August 14th to 24th, the representatives from 77 Russian regions will showcase their culinary specialties.

Dagestan is a highlight of the festival, captivating attendees with unique meat delicacies. Notably, the region features the exquisite Dagestan mutton kebab and the renowned Barandi brand from Botlikh district. Known for its exceptional quality in meat processing, Barandi offers shock-frozen lamb and premium semi-finished products that have garnered praise among Moscow's discerning palates.

The festival's primary objective is to unite the finest artisanal goods from across Russia, enabling guests to immerse themselves in the country's diverse cultural tapestry through its gastronomic heritage. Over 300 manufacturers participate, representing a wide geographical expanse from the Kola Peninsula to the Caucasus and from the Baltic Sea to the Far East.

Beyond Dagestani delicacies, the festival has captivated Muscovites and visitors with Karachay khychins, Buryat buuzes, dishes prepared with fresh Yakut fish, Siberian venison, and an assortment of pastries. Throughout the ten-day event, participants and guests can enjoy a vibrant cultural and entertainment program, encompassing cooking demonstrations, masterclasses, interactive activities, performances by artists, and lively concerts.

Originally conceived in 2020-2021 as a national competition for regional food brands, the "Tastes of Russia" festival has evolved into a full-fledged gastronomic celebration since 2022. It is now organized annually through a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and Moscow City Government.
