According to data for the first six months of this year, 21,385 births were registered in Dagestan, including 10,592 male and 10,793 female newborns. There were 186 cases of twins and 3 cases of triplets being born. Modern medical technologies enable successful care for babies with extremely low body weight, starting from 500 grams at birth. The lowest weight of a newborn, who received effective medical care from Dagestani specialists, was 480 grams.
