On August 8th, the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan will host a unique exhibition showcasing authentic masterpieces from the collection of the National Museum of the Republic of Dagestan named after A. Takho-Godi.

Visitors will have an opportunity to admire renowned Kaitag embroidery, explore the intricate beauty of traditional costumes representing 30 different ethnicities, and delve into the history of unique Untsukul weapons adorned with intricate metal inlays on wood. This extensive exhibition serves as a celebration of Russia's multifaceted cultural heritage, with a particular emphasis on the rich traditions of Dagestan.

The event aims to attract a diverse audience, encompassing individuals from various sectors of society both within Russia and abroad.  "My Dagestan" is presented as a tribute to one of the world's most vibrant cultural centers, highlighting the shared heritage amongst the people of Russia. The exhibition underscores the crucial role of this cultural legacy in shaping the entirety of artistic expression.

More than 200 authentic artifacts will narrate the story of the lives, craftsmanship and artistic brilliance of Dagestani people.  The exhibition's striking array of traditional costumes vividly depicts the distinct identities of the region's various ethnic groups. The world-renowned "Kaitag" embroidery exemplifies a unique phenomenon in decorative art, showcasing the exceptional gold embroidery skills of Dagestani artisans.

Besides, the exhibition will feature renowned weapons and objects of decorative and applied art from Untsukul, a village renowned for its wood carving expertise. Watercolors and paintings by Dagestani artists, including works by Muetdin-Arabi Jemal (1900-1960), who masterfully captured the beauty of national costumes, will complete the exhibition.

"My Dagestan" promises to be an immersive cultural experience, offering visitors a rare opportunity to explore the essence of this culturally diverse region.
