Makhachkala, October 29, 2017. On Monday, October 30, the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala, will host the official opening ceremony of the First Republican Ethno festival of Foreign Students studying in the universities of the region, the press service of Dagestan Ministry for national policy informs.

"The main goal of the ethno festival is to preserve and develop the culture, traditions and ethnic identity of foreign students, as well as to strengthen the interethnic peace and harmony" the press service officer is quoted saying.

The ethno festival participants will display the work of the republican Higher schools with the foreign students. On the same day, a round table on the experience of universities in preserving the ethnocultural identity of foreign students, a photo exhibition and a concert of creative groups will be held.

About 1,000 students from the United States, Nigeria, Palestine, India, the Sudan, Afghanistan, as well as CIS member states are expected to take part in the event.
