Dagestan State Medical University recently hosted the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Topical Issues in Gastroenterology” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor Esed Esedov—an outstanding scientist and Honored Doctor of Russia and Dagestan.

During the ceremonial opening, representatives of the Republican Public Health Ministry, legislative bodies and the medical community delivered welcoming remarks, highlighting Professor Esedov’s invaluable contribution to science and medical education, as well as the importance of preserving the legacy of Dagestan’s renowned medical schools.

The scientific program of the conference featured two specialized sessions focusing on contemporary approaches to diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders. Key topics included the application of artificial intelligence in screening, management of liver diseases and complex clinical cases. Presentations were delivered by both federal experts from leading national medical centers and specialists from Dagestan State Medical University, fostering rich professional exchange and strengthening collaborative ties within the gastroenterology community.
