The analytical agency PromRating has released a ranking of unemployment rates in Russian regions, based on data directly from the Federal State Statistics Service. According to this ranking, Dagestan emerged as the leading region in 2024, with a significant number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and above, totaling 175,857.

Moscow region follows closely behind, with 75,088 registered unemployed residents. Ingushetia ranks third, with only 68,311 unemployed individuals. Moscow and Krasnodar Krai also feature prominently among the top five regions with elevated unemployment levels, with respective figures of 64,470 and 56,991.

Across the nation as a whole, there was a reduction in the number of individuals aged 15 years and above who were unemployed in 2024, compared to 2023. The decrease amounted to 20.9 percent, which is equivalent to a fifth, from 2,248,678 individuals to 1,779,810.
