Makhachkala Airport and Derbent will soon be linked by bus service. The new transport route is expected to improve transport accessibility of the Caspian coastal cluster. Among the options under consideration are the retrofitting of the Uytash bus stop and the construction of a new electrified branch from the airport to the junction point near Manas station.

At present, boarding and disembarking on the Makhachkala-Derbent route is carried out at the station "Dagestanskie Ogni". About 25 thousand passengers were transported in both directions last year.

The possibility of reconstructing the station and building a railway station with all the necessary infrastructure, including ticket offices, waiting rooms and other service points, is being considered. The plans include the creation of new conditions for convenient passenger traffic, including the construction of a covered, elevated pedestrian crossing over the railway.
