Road builders have started construction of a new access road to Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port, estimated to cost RUB 7.9 billion.

The port of Makhachkala is currently undergoing a phase of significant development, establishing itself as a critical transportation hub in the Caspian region. Its strategic position makes it a vital component in the North-South trans-Caspian transport corridor.
The construction of an access road to the port is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, with preliminary construction and installation works already underway. Makhachkala port holds particular geopolitical importance as Russia's only ice-free and deep-water port in the Caspian region. It has the capacity to accommodate vessels up to 150 metres in length and with a draft up to 4.5 metres.

The port boasts a well-developed infrastructure, encompassing a dry cargo harbor, terminals for general and bulk cargo operations, as well as modern railway, car-ferry and grain facilities.

Besides, Dagestan actively expands international relations, forging new partnerships with foreign countries. Concurrently, the republic maintains a close watch on its internal economy, carefully tracking price variations for staple goods such as eggs, vegetables and fruits throughout the year.
