Dagestan and Turkmenistan seek a better way to launch the first cargo ship, a representative of JSC "Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port" says. According to the source, the launch of the first cargo ship is scheduled in June 2024.

It was assumed that this direction will be launched by the end of 2023. We are waiting for data from our partners from Turkmenistan on the type of the first ship and the format of staging on the lines, based on which the necessary cargo base and port infrastructure will be prepared from our side. The ferry service for container transportation is among the priority issues to be solved in the nearest future, the top manager says.
