Under the auspices of the state leasing program, Dagestan will additionally purchase 100 buses, with the federal budget contributing 40 percent of the expenses.

The passenger transport fleet is to be augmented by 20 small, 59 medium, 8 large, and 10 extra-large units. As soon as the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announces the acceptance of documents, the republic will submit its application to Moscow.

In total, Dagestan operates 620 passenger routes, on which approximately 3,000 buses are in service. In 2024, they are projected to transport 28.9 million passengers. Currently, the fleet deterioration is the primary challenge facing the region. It results in rising costs for spare parts, ultimately increasing transportation expenses.
