Dagestan and Uzbekistan are currently discussing the possibility of exporting grape seedlings from Dagestan to Uzbekistan. The delegation from Bukhara region accompanied by the Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Dagestan Gadzhi Sultanov, the Chairman of the Committee for Viticulture and Alcohol Regulation Sherif Kerimkhanov, as well as the representatives of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Russian Federation in Makhachkala visited Magaramkentski municipal district located in southern Dagestan.
The Khokim (Governor) of Bukhara Region, Botir Zaripov, visited the vineyards of Vehi Company, which cover a total area of 520.8 hectares.
According to Gadzhi Sultanov, Dagestan today is not only self-sufficient in grape seedlings production, but also has the capacity to export these seedlings to other regions.
Noteworthy, in May 2024 Uzbekistan expressed interest in grape seedlings from Dagestan. During his visit to Uzbekistan to participate in the meeting of the Council of Regions, the prime minister of the Republic of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov discussed the prospects for the supply of agricultural products.
