Dagestan literature presented at Tehran International Book Fair

Makhachkala, May 16, 2016. On 4 - 14 May 2016б the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran hosted the 29th Tehran International Book Fair, the press-service of Dagestan Union of Writers reports.
As informed, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belgium, France, Germany, India, Spain, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Poland, Russia, USA, Turkmenistan, Turkey, South Korea, Japan and others have become the exhibiting countries.
Russia, this year, was a special guest of the large-scale book fair. The Russian Book Union and the General Directorate of International Book Exhibitions and Fairs with the support of Russia’s Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications have become the organizer of the Russian national exhibition stand "Books of Russia". The national stand of Russia demonstrated the culture and science, education, art, architecture and tourism through the prism of book publishing.
The chief editor of Dagestani literary magazines "Sokolyonok" and "Literary Dagestan" Murad Akhmedov participated in the fair. Akhmedov promoted Dagestani writings to the Iranian readers.
Besides, the welcome banners around the Russian pavilion quoted the Russian literature classics were translated into Persian.
Tehran International Book Fair is one of the most important events not only in Iran but also in Asia and the Middle East. Annually, more than 5 million readers visit, and 1,600 publishers attend the exhibition who exposed about 220 thousand books.
