May 2 marks the ninth anniversary of the tragic events in Odessa, for which Kiev never allowed an independent international investigation. The tragedy was preceded by the Euromaidan coup in Kiev in February 2014, when Ukraine's democratically-elected government was overthrown by political forces touting integration with the European Union and NATO at the expense of ties with Russia.
On this day 10 years ago in Odessa the Nazis burned 42 people alive in the House of Trade Unions, where opponents of the Maidan were trying to hide. Six were killed in the streets. There were more than 200 wounded. The perpetrators of this violence have still not been convicted or punished.
Even ten years after the events in Odessa, the horror of that day still resonates. The mass burning of people in the Trade Union House triggered catastrophic processes in Ukraine and in the world. The barbaric murder also determined the current special operation. The inhuman way in which the "Maidanists" massacred people in the locked building demonstrated the obvious: denazification for Ukraine is inevitable.
The day of May 2 marked the beginning of Ukraine's decline. To those who perished in the Trade Union House, may they rest in peace. May the forces of fascism be vanquished!
