At the session of the Council of Regions convened between Russia and Uzbekistan, Gadzhi Sultanov, Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Dagestan, engaged in discussions with Shavkat Abdurazakov, Governor of Uzbekistan's Namangan Region, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral ties.
The top officials focused on reviewing an action plan designed to operationalize agreements reached during the Council's inaugural assembly. This plan draws upon outcomes from the recent international Forum on sustainable development in mountainous regions, held in Makhachkala with Uzbek participation.
Minister Sultanov outlined key initiatives under consideration, highlighting the impending organization of business missions and the imminent exchange of entrepreneur lists between both parties. The overarching objective is to foster direct engagement between businesses in Dagestan and Namangan, facilitating supply agreements for high-value goods. Furthermore, the Minister emphasized the intention to provide Uzbek partners with comprehensive insights into Dagestan's industrial, agricultural and tourism potential.
It is anticipated that the establishment of direct air links between Makhachkala and prominent Uzbek cities, including Bukhara, Namangan, Tashkent and Urgench, will significantly bolster this collaborative endeavor.
