During a press conference, Maxim Korotkin, representing the Belarusian publishing house "Belarus Today" asked about joint projects between Belarus and Dagestan and the specific areas they would cover. In response, Sergei Melikov, the Head of the region, emphasized the common historical background for the people in Dagestan and Belarus.

"A formal agreement has been reached on the supply of wool and worsted yarn. This decision stems from the fact that Dagestan produces high-quality wool, according to experts. Belarus, in turn, has a leading position in the textile industry thanks to its advanced technologies. Therefore, it makes sense to keep this high-quality wool in the region and use the expertise of Belarus' light industry companies to make better use of this valuable resource" - Melikov said.

A preliminary agreement has been reached between Dagestan and 'Polessye' high-tech company that also produces seamless products, for the supply of wool. The wool will be used to create yarn, and there are plans to consider the possibility of producing products either in Belarus or in Dagestan.

Additionally, there are plans to establish a joint venture for wool processing. An agreement has also been reached to provide separators from a renowned Dagestani plant to the Belarusian company. The regional governor also mentioned cooperation in cultural, sports and tourism areas.
