The Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has instructed to develop a comprehensive plan for the construction of a railway line connecting Derbent and Mineralnye Vody. This strategic infrastructure project aims to improve transportation accessibility and accelerate socio-economic development within the North Caucasian region.

The new railway line is expected to significantly enhance both passenger and freight transport between these regions, bolstering tourism and logistics capabilities. Currently, no direct rail link exists between Derbent and Mineralnye Vody, necessitating circuitous routes.

This project represents a potential milestone in modernizing the North Caucasusan transportation infrastructure and strengthening connectivity among its constituent republics within the North Caucasian Federal District.

While a definitive timeline and budget remain to be established, relevant agencies are expected to submit their proposals shortly.
