Trade turnover between Dagestan and Uzbekistan grows by 25% in 2024

The Prime Minister of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov. During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to cooperation in various fields, including education, industry, agriculture, tourism, culture, bilateral trade, economic relations, scientific and technical cooperation.
According to Abdulmuslimov, the bilateral trade turnover has increased by 25% compared to the same period of 2023. This positive trend is attributed to the efforts of both republics to strengthen economic ties.
The Prime Minister pointed out the importance of rice farming, fruit and vegetable growing, viticulture and agro-logistics for the development of Dagestan. Abdulmuslimov proposed cooperation in the areas of supplying Uzbekistan with agricultural products, including meat, fish, rice and urbech. Additionally, Abdulmuslimov suggested sharing expertise in sheep breeding and cotton cultivation.
