In Dagestan, there is an acute shortage of personnel in the construction industry at all levels and across all specializations. As to Ali Shahbanov, the president of the Guild of Builders of the North Caucasian Federal District, this shortage is particularly severe among concrete workers, reinforcement specialists, monolithic operators, finishers, welders and masons.

Besides, Shahbanov pointed out the need for IT professionals who could integrate digital solutions into the construction process.

According to expert’s estimates, there are currently over 9,000 professionals working in the field, with salaries ranging from approximately RUB 21,000 to 53,000 per month. However, it is worth noting that many workers are also engaged in informal employment, which not only undermines the industry's economic stability but also contributes to a brain drain from the sector.

Additionally, safety measures are often neglected at construction sites, leading to serious accidents and even fatalities among workers. Shakhbanov remarked that, based on the findings of 2024, the construction sector in Dagestan attained a turnover amounting to RUB 200 billion.
