Dagestan authorities have announced plans to establish a special commission aimed at addressing the issue of noisy cars. The new body will consist of muftis, traffic police officers and officials. This initiative will allow residents and tourists to report on street racers and other loud vehicles. Requests for assistance will be accepted along with photos, videos and information about the location of the offending drivers.
The commission will check vehicles for noise levels and the presence of uncertified exhaust systems. For violations, a fine of one thousand rubles will be imposed, after which, according to the authorities, violators will be subjected to a preventive conversation with imams.
Some local street racers have already begun contacting auto-repair specialists to check if their cars comply with the acceptable 96 dB noise level. In case of excess, owners may need to replace their exhaust systems, which can cost as much as RUB 30 thousand. Over the past week, dozens of similar advertisements have appeared on specialized platforms.
