In line with the objectives of the national healthcare project, a modern center for oncohematology, a medical specialty that deals with diseases of the lymphatic and circulatory systems, will be established in Dagestan. Investors from the United Arab Emirates have expressed interest in participating in the project.
The capacity of the new center, designed to accommodate 150 patients, will allow it to provide comprehensive medical services for this profile to residents of Dagestan and neighboring regions of the Northern Caucasus. A suitable site for the construction of the facility has been identified. It is planned to finalize the list of priority actions and begin the practical implementation of the project in the nearest future.
Over the past five years, in Dagestan, within the framework of the national project, 125 outpatient clinics and 12 hospitals have been built and 135 healthcare facilities have been renovated. Besides, 3,143 new medical devices have been installed in regional medical institutions, including 28 computed tomography (CT) scanners and 5 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines.
The national "Healthcare" project aims to reduce the mortality rate among the working-age population, to eliminate the shortage of medical personnel and to provide all citizens with regular medical check-ups.
