Makhachkala, March 28, 2018. The problems of seismic resistant construction have been discussed yesterday at the scientific and practical seminar: "On the development of regional model of seismic impact" organized by Dagestan State Technical University.
As the University press service officer, he seminar was devoted to the latest scientific models and the results obtained by the university researchers. The event has been attended by teachers, the graduate students and university students who got an idea of achievements and latest developments in the field of earthquake-resistant construction.
So, according to the head of the architecture department DSTU, Professor Abakar Abakarov, the problem of seismic safety becomes more relevant with the years in connection with the increase in high-rise buildings and large-span structures in urban planning.
"The consequences of their destruction during an earthquake can be catastrophic. Therefore, it is important to assess their survivability for possible non-accounting situations under seismic impact" Abakarov stressed.
The associate Professor of the Architecture Department DSTU Khanzada Zainulbidova presented a report on the topic: "Regional Model of Seismic Impact" to the seminar participants. Zainulbidova substantiated the relevance of development of regional models of seismic effects, demonstrated video material with the program for the generation of artificial accelerograms and reported on the results of a study in the field of seismic hazard in the territory of Dagestan.
The senior lecturer of the Architecture Department DSTU Khadzhimurad Omarov spoke about the effectiveness of using rigid and flexible rubber-metal supports for seismic insulation of buildings, cited the results of calculations for 5, 9 and 12-storey buildings with seismic impacts of different scores.
