Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Magomed-Gasan Abushev, a gold medalist for the USSR national team in 1980, addressed the participants and attendees. He underscored the Spartakiad's pivotal role within the republic, emphasizing that the pursuit of excellence and an indomitable spirit are fundamental to the Dagestani character. Abushev praised the younger generation for their aspirations and encouraged them to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, wishing them fair and determined competition.
Hero of Russia Enver Nabiyev spoke on sport's unifying power, characterizing the Spartakiad as more than just a contest symbolizing the unity and camaraderie of diverse population in Dagestan. Dagestani Government Chairman Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov delivered speech focused on the revival of Soviet-era traditions.
