Dauren Kurugliev brought gold to Greece at the European Freestyle Wrestling Championship. This is the third consecutive win for the Dagestani in the event. His total tally of medals at major European competitions now stands at four.

Kurugliev defeated another Dagestani wrestler, Osman Nurmagomedov, in the finals of Euro 2025. This is Kurugliev's first gold medal at the European Championship in the -92kg category. All his previous victories were in the Olympic 86kg category.
