Ibragim Ibragimov, a wrestler from Dagestan, achieved the title of European freestyle wrestling champion for the first time in his career, fully living up to the expectations placed upon him.

In the competition held in the 65 kg Olympic weight category, Ibragimov emerged victorious, securing his position as the winner. Throughout the tournament, he demonstrated exceptional performance, triumphing in the majority of his encounters. In the final bout, he faced off against the French wrestler Khamzat Arsamerzuev, defeating him with a score of 3–0. This gold medal secured for the Russian team was Ibragimov's second in Slovakia, adding to the team's overall medal tally.
