The native of Dagestan Rasul Shiraev has won the Russian Junior Weightlifting Championship held in Krasnodar region. The athlete had no rivals in the category up to 55 kg. In the total snatch and jerk he lifted 190 kg, 18 kg more than the nearest competitor. The Dagestani will now represent Russia at the European Championship.
