Bashir Magomedov triumphed at the European Championship in freestyle wrestling for juniors under 23 in Baku, where he won the gold medal in the weight category up to 61 kg. In the finals Dagestani freestyle wrestler defeated Nikita Abramov from Ukraine winning 10-0. It should be noted that another Dagestan wrestler, Ibragim Ibragimov, also won gold at the same event the day before in the 65 kg weight category.
