MAKHACHKALA, June 25 – RIA "Dagestan". On the sidelines of a specialized Chinese forum on port and grain storage design, Makhachkala Sea Commercial Port Director General Dzhamal Aliyev and the Famsun group entered into a contract. The agreement provides for the full installation of advanced silos and conveyor equipment at the new grain terminal; installation is due to begin in the autumn of 2026.
Aliyev also inspected the production progress of equipment for Makhachkala seaport, which was previously ordered from Famsun — a leading Chinese manufacturer of equipment for grain and oilseed terminals. The first batch of equipment will be shipped to the port of Makhachkala as early as next month.
Full-scale and on-schedule work is currently underway to build the foundations for the grain storage facilities. The grain terminal being developed promises exceptional capacity for the Caspian basin, with an annual cargo transshipment throughput of 1.5 million tons and a concurrent grain storage capability of up to 100,000 tons.
