MAKHACHKALA, February 22 – RIA "Dagestan". By the end of 2025, the volume of online trade in Dagestan had increased by nearly 90%, reaching RUB 38.1 billion. In terms of growth rate, the region was surpassed only by neighboring Ingushetia, where online sales doubled over the same period.

Experts attribute the surge in e-commerce across the Northern Caucasus primarily to improved logistics infrastructure and the expansion of major online marketplaces, which significantly accelerated delivery times even to remote settlements.

According to data from the International Association for the Development of Marketplaces and Entrepreneurs, cited by RBC "Kavkaz," Russia's overall online trade market grew by 28% in 2025, reaching nearly RUB 12 trillion. Dagestan's growth rate therefore exceeded the national average by more than threefold.

Alexey Molodykh, Director General of the Association, noted that consumer demand patterns in the republic shifted similarly to national trends. Everyday goods led the structure of online purchases: food and prepared meal deliveries accounted for 19% of turnover, home goods and furniture comprised 16%, and clothing and footwear represented approximately 14%.
