MAKHACHKALA, May 12 – RIA "Dagestan." According to RIA Novosti experts, Dagestan ranks among the Russian regions with the lowest electricity prices, with residents paying approximately RUB 4 per kilowatt-hour.
Irkutsk Oblast remains the national leader in affordability at RUB 1.8 per kWh, followed by Khakassia at RUB 3.3, while the highest tariffs are found in Chukotka at 11.54 rubles per kWh. Electricity prices across Russia depend on several factors, including the development of local energy generation, grid infrastructure conditions, and proximity to raw material sources for power production.
The presence of hydroelectric power plants is also a significant factor in keeping costs low in certain regions. Dagestan's relatively affordable electricity reflects a combination of these structural advantages, providing economic relief to households and businesses compared to many other federal subjects.
