Makhachkala, May 4, 2016. In Russian regions, the yield of potatoes grown by 6.8% compared to the same period of 2014. The total harvest amounted to 33.6 million tons, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reports.
Above all, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Tambov, Penza, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions have demonstrated the record figures over the certain period.
In terms of absolute figures Voronezh Region was the best (1 million 809.4 thousand tons), Tatarstan (1 million 589.7 thousand tons), Bryansk Region (1 million 315.1 thousand tons) Krasnoyarsk Territory (1 million 150.8 thousand tons) and Bashkortostan (1 million 133.5 thousand tons).
