MAKHACHKALA, July 25 – RIA "Dagestan". According to FinExpertiza, Dagestan experienced a sharp 68.3% rise in commercial organization closures during H1 2026, totaling 367 entities, while neighboring Ingushetia and Chechnya reported declines of 24.4% and 24.9%. New registrations in the republic dropped 16%, aligning with a nationwide 24% decrease to just 67,000 new firms—the lowest level in at least 17 years.
Although Russian-wide closures fell 9% to 119,000, Dagestan’s spike mirrored increases in Kabardino-Balkaria and Stavropol Krai. Regionally, Karachay-Cherkessia faced the steepest drop in new businesses (-53.5%), while nationally, only three regions added enterprises; Zaporozhye led in business attrition with a 7.8% reduction in total active companies.
