Dagestan consumes twice as much electricity as it produces

According to the data provided by the Southern branch of the Unified Energy System JSC, in 2024, electricity generation in the region exceeded 5 trillion kilowatt-hours. Simultaneously, electricity consumption surpassed 9 trillion kilowatt-hours. As in prior years, the issue of capacity shortfall was mitigated by the diversion of energy resources from the adjacent power grids.
