MAKHACHKALA, June 16 – RIA Dagestan. In 2026, winter grain crops in Dagestan are to be harvested from an area of more than 80,000 hectares, Sharip Sharipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food says. Khasavyurtovsky District with 19,500 hectares, Nogaysky District with about 10,000 hectares, Karabudakhkentsky District with 9,500 hectares and Kizlyarsky District with 7,500 hectares are the leaders in area sown.

The fieldwork will deploy over 400 combine harvesters. The deputy minister added that preparations include bringing in additional equipment from other regions and coordinating the orderly relocation of combines within the republic to ensure a timely and efficient harvest.

During a visit to the Granit agricultural cooperative in Khasavyurtovsky District, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov inspected the ongoing winter crop harvest. Apart from grain crops, the farm cultivates a diverse range of agricultural products, including rapeseed, peas, chickpeas and mustard.

Adil Gereev, the enterprise head, reported that three of the cooperative’s own combine harvesters were operating in the fields. He assured the deputy minister that the vehicle fleet was fully prepared for the season, spare parts adequately stocked and all necessary fire safety protocols being strictly followed.

Commending the cooperative's high operational standards, Sharipov praised Granit as a standout enterprise, recognizing it as one of the model farms in the Republic of Dagestan.

"This is one of the largest grain-growing farms in the republic, actively utilizing advanced agricultural technologies. Many of the techniques developed at this farm are being replicated across the region—this applies to both soil cultivation and other agrotechnological methods" Sharipov said.
