MOSCOW, June 10 – RIA Dagestan. VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy) a massive, 520-hectare park and museum complex in Moscow) hosted the official opening of the VI International Tourism Forum "Travel!", one of the flagship events of the Russian tourism industry.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, State Duma Deputy Chairwoman Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Economic Development Minister Dmitry Vakhrukov and a wide range of federal and regional officials, business leaders and tourism specialists. Emin Merdanov, Acting Minister of Tourism and Folk-Art Crafts represented the Republic of Dagestan. The event's focal point was a ceremonial parade of participating regions and foreign countries, with 75 Russian constituent entities and more than 30 foreign delegations—including China—taking part, marking the largest turnout in the forum's history.
The plenary session "Time to Travel: A Variety of Impressions Available to Everyone" was chaired by Dmitry Chernyshenko and Maksim Reshetnikov, with Prime Minister Mishustin's welcome remarks underlining the necessity of enhancing service quality and hospitality in the tourism industry. On the sidelines, Merdanov met with Sergey Krivtsov, Co-Chairman of the "Divo Rossii" and "Divo Eurasia" festival committees, to discuss staging the All-Russian "Divo Rossii" competition in Dagestan, considering the project's further development, venue options, expert engagement and the participation of regional representatives from across Russia.
