MAKHACHKALA, July 15 – RIA "Dagestan". Tourism tax revenues in Dagestan have reached RUB 16.7 million since January, marking a more than threefold increase compared to the same timeframe in 2025.
The tax was originally introduced last year in six municipalities—Makhachkala, Kaspiysk, Kizilyurt, Izberbash, Derbent and Dagestanskiye Ogni—as well as in 22 municipal districts. This year, its coverage has expanded to include Buynaksk and Kizlyar, plus seven districts: Akushinsky, Babayurtovsky, Buynaksky, Gergebilsky, Rutulsky, Khivsky, and Tsumadinsky.
All revenue flows into the budgets of the municipalities where the guesthouses and hotels are situated and can be earmarked for tourism and urban infrastructure development. The tourism tax cap is 2% as of 1 January 2026.
