The Republic of Dagestan undertakes a substantial expansion of its viticulture industry. In 2025, the federal budget will allocate over RUB 1 billion to support this initiative, enabling the cultivation of over 1,247 hectares of new vineyards. This significant investment surpasses initial projections of 700 hectares and reflects a six-fold increase in federal subsidies compared to allocations six years ago.
This amplified support has yielded positive results, culminating in a record grape harvest of 301 thousand tons in the previous year – the highest yield since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Looking ahead, Dagestani government aims to develop 10,000 to 12,000 hectares suitable for viticulture, ultimately expanding production capacity and enhancing overall yields.
