Data from Sanatorium-Russia indicates a notable increase in sanatorium tourism within Dagestan during the first six months of 2025. A total of 13,000 individuals sought rest and recuperation in these facilities, representing a 9% rise compared to the same period in the preceding year. This positive trend extends to the broader North Caucasian Federal District, which welcomed 454,000 guests to its sanatoriums during the first half of 2025. Consequently, Dagestani recreational facilities generated revenue of RUB 173 million within this timeframe.
However, Evgeny Terentyev, a member of the National Resort Association's Board, cautions that despite strong demand for sanatorium services, elevated pricing presents a barrier to accessibility for a substantial portion of the population.
