MOSCOW, June 16 – RIA Dagestan. Thousands of forum-visitors attended Dagestan pavilion at the "Travel!" international tourism event, eager to learn about the region's culture and touristic potential. They participated in quizzes and contests, explored authentic crafts, tasted Dagestani dishes and spoke with tour operators about travel routes. Master classes in Balkhar ceramics, carpet weaving and the singular art of Untsukul melchior inlay on wood—a craft with no parallel in the world—drew the most attention.
Alongside the extensive cultural program, the forum served as an effective platform for business networking. Dagestani delegation, headed by Acting Minister of Tourism and Folk Artistic Crafts Emin Merdanov, conducted a series of working meetings. The discussions addressed the possibility of holding the All-Russian tourism video festival "Divo Rossii" in Dagestan, the prospects for cooperation with the Republic of Belarus in the fields of tourism and health recreation and strategies for promoting the region's tourism potential on international markets.
Throughout the event, Dagestan stand received visitors from a wide array of Russian regions and international countries. The mounting interest in the republic guarantees a prosperous outlook, paving the way for new tourist routes, innovative projects and robust partnerships, while attracting a growing wave of visitors ready to explore this extraordinary land of mountains, coastline and warm hospitality.
