MAKHACHKALA, March 13 – RIA Dagestan. The construction of the major "Chirkey–Makhachkala–Kaspiysk" water pipeline in Dagestan is scheduled for completion in 2026, Bakhtiyar Ullaev, Minister of Construction of the Republic says. The pipeline, spanning approximately 80 kilometers, will supply quality drinking water to around 900,000 residents across the region.
Funding for the project includes an infrastructure budget loan of RUB 10.5 billion allocated to Dagestan. According to Ullaev, three additional water supply facilities are being implemented under the same treasury infrastructure loan framework, which together will provide clean drinking water to more than one million people.
The minister also highlighted progress on wastewater infrastructure: construction of intra-city sewage collectors in Makhachkala began in 2025 with financing from the National Wealth Fund, a project expected to deliver quality wastewater services to 200,000 residents. Additionally, survey and design work for sewage treatment facilities serving Makhachkala agglomeration reached 95% completion in the reporting period. These initiatives form part of a broader effort to modernize regional water and sanitation infrastructure in Dagestan.
