Expanding its local offerings, the Magnit retail network has begun selling Derbent Brewing Company products throughout Dagestan. An initial supply has been distributed to 40 stores in 13 settlements, covering major cities like Makhachkala, Izberbash, Kaspiysk and Kizlyar.
The shelves now feature the non-alcoholic "Derbentskoye 0" and the live light "Derbentskoye 1". The beverages are produced at Derbent brewery in Dzhalgan, which opened in 2022 as one of the region's youngest food production businesses. Unlike many competitors, the plant is independently owned and not affiliated with any major holdings.
Utilizing modern bottling lines, the brewery packages its 12 distinct beer varieties—ranging from classic and light to German and Czech—in glass, PET, aluminum cans and kegs.
As to Shtepan Loshak, Chief Technologist of Derbent Brewing Company, Magnit is the first federal network to retail their beverages. "We are offering customers classic and non-alcoholic varieties brewed with spring water. We expect that the partnership with Magnit will make our product more accessible to residents of Dagestan and guests of the republic, as well as help us enter new markets outside our home region" he noted.
Local drinks already have a strong presence on Magnit shelves in Dagestan. Apart from the new beer lineup, the retailer offers a wide range of regional products, including "Rychal-Su" mineral water, wines from Derbent Wine Company and the Sparkling Wine Factory, cognacs and brandies from local companies. This cooperation with regional producers allows Magnit to diversify its assortment with unique local goods for customers in Dagestan and across Russia.
