MAKHACHKALA, June 3 – RIA Dagestan. Dagestan-based enterprise "Concern KEMZ" JSC has successfully completed another series of test flights for its in-house developed helicopter, designated AP-55. The initial phase of engine testing was performed without rotor blades installed, while the second phase was conducted with the blades fitted.
Work on testing the navigation complex is ongoing and expected to finish by August 15. During the second stage, engineers assessed the system's stability once the rotor blades were mounted. As previously reported, the factory intends to carry out the complete assembly and manufacture of all helicopter components, with the exception of the engine, on its own premises.
The rotorcraft is designed primarily for civil light aviation use. It can accommodate up to five passengers, has a payload capacity of up to 600 kg, and a cruise speed reaching 240 km/h. An airworthiness certificate for the helicopter has already been obtained. The factory also reports that parties from Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Arab countries and India have shown interest in the aircraft.
