MAKHACHKALA, October 19 – RIA "Dagestan". The Northern Caucasus Railway has incorporated the "Khasavyurt–Karlanyurt" section in Dagestan into its track modernization program for the January–September 2026 period. This strategic segment is critical for facilitating transit traffic toward the Caspian Sea and handling freight from local industrial enterprises.
During the nine-month reporting window, the company executed comprehensive overhauls on 51 kilometers of track and replaced rails across an additional 54 kilometers, with total investments reaching RUB 4.2 billion. These infrastructure upgrades were not limited to Dagestan but also extended to key sections within Rostov Region, Krasnodar Krai and Stavropol Krai, reflecting a broad-based approach to network maintenance and capacity enhancement.
