MAKHACHKALA, July 30 – RIA "Dagestan". Construction of the first stage of the R-215 highway on northern bypass of Makhachkala has begun in Dagestan, targeting increased throughput on the vital Astrakhan–Kochubey–Kizlyar–Makhachkala route.
As reported by RosTender.info, the project carries an initial maximum price tag of over RUB 4 billion, fully financed by the federal budget. Bids for the tender are due by August 17, 2026, with completion of construction and reconstruction mandated no later than November 30, 2028.
The upgrade is projected to enhance traffic safety and driver comfort, optimize regional freight and passenger flows and support broader economic growth across Dagestan and surrounding areas.
