TARUMOVSKY DISTRICT, May 26 – RIA Dagestan. A rice processing plant has been officially put into operation in the village of Karabagly, Tarumovsky District, as part of the "Journey Along the Great Silk Road-2026" international project.
A UN delegation visiting Dagestan to assess its agricultural, scientific and tourism potential took part in the event. Officials, among them representatives of Russia's Agriculture Ministry, stressed that the new facility would guarantee product quality and stimulate the regional economy. According to project initiator Nurudin Omarov, the plant will process up to 40 tons of rice groats per shift, backed by more than 1,000 hectares of engineered rice cultivation systems.
The complex includes a processing plant, packaging facility, warehouse terminal, elevator and grain cleaning and drying units, all operating under GOST and international standards. High product quality is achieved through premium raw materials and modern high-tech equipment and processes.
Following the opening ceremony, Omarov conducted a tour detailing the construction stages, equipment commissioning and production workflow for high-quality rice.
