MAKHACHKALA, July 1 – RIA "Dagestan". On July 1, "Stavropolenergosbyt" PJSC started acting as the unified guaranteeing electricity supplier for the republics of Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia–Alania and Karachay-Cherkessia. The move follows a Russian Government resolution and is part of the reform of the North Caucasian electric power industry to separate network and supply functions.
The new arrangement is intended to improve operational efficiency, strengthen payment discipline, and support the further growth of the energy infrastructure in the region.
Pyotr Konyushenko, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, described the launch of the specialized guaranteeing supplier as an important step in refining the energy supply framework of the Northern Caucasus. The separation of transmission and supply roles, he noted, will increase settlement transparency, improve customer service and shore up the financial sustainability of the region's power sector.
