The Republic of Dagestan has announced plans to start construction of the Novolak Wind Power Plant (WPP) by the end of 2025. The project, overseen by Rosatom Renewable Energy, aims to install 120 wind turbines in Novolaksky and Kumtorkalinsky municipal districts. These turbines will generate a combined capacity of 300 megawatts when completed. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in December this year.
According to Rosatom's long-term strategy, the company aims to have operational wind farms with a total capacity of more than 2 gigawatts by 2028. This ambitious goal positions Rosatom as a leader in the Russian market for renewable energy.
