Representatives of Dagestan branch of Sberbank and the Muftiate of the Republic convened in Makhachkala to discuss the expansion of Sharia-compliant partner financing and the enhancement of regional financial literacy.
A central focus of the meeting was the launch of the "Introduction to Islamic (Partner) Financing" educational program, a joint initiative developed by SberUniversity and Sber’s Center for Partner Financing and Special Projects in collaboration with leading industry experts. The program aims to train specialists capable of effectively communicating the principles of Islamic finance to the broader public.
During the event, Sber presented the Muftiate with certificates for complimentary enrollment in the program. Both parties emphasized that such educational initiatives were critical for developing the region's financial infrastructure and fostering public trust in alternative financial instruments.
As to Evgeny Morozov, Managing Director of Sberbank’s regional Branch, Dagestan is a strategic region for Sber's Islamic finance vector and the collaboration with the Muftiate lays the groundwork for an inclusive financial ecosystem aligned with the ethical and religious convictions of the population.
