First Forteforma Summer Creative School Opens in Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA, August 19 – RIA Dagestan. The first Forteforma Summer Creative School has officially opened in Dagestan, bringing together instructors from abroad alongside leading Russian specialists.

Over the course of a week, gifted children and students of the G.Gasanov Music College will work with prominent teachers from Moscow, as well as specialists currently teaching in the United States and China. The program includes masterclasses, creative meetings and plein air sessions.

The project is implemented with support of the regional governor Fyodor Shchukin and philanthropist Vadim Alkhazov, founder of the Forteforma Foundation for the Support and Development of Cultural and Social Projects.

Ahead of the main educational events, the visiting instructors and cultural figures toured Murad Kazhlaev School for Gifted Children. The guests visited the maestro's memorial museum, where they learned about the composer's legacy and his contribution to the development of the region's musical culture.

The opening ceremony took place in the concert hall and was attended by Zarema Butaeva, Acting Minister of Culture of Dagestan. The top official thanked the instructors for their visit and stressed the project's importance for the young people.

The first artistic highlight came in the form of a performance by young Forteforma Foundation scholarship recipients from Moscow, who played works by Russian classical composers on the piano. The summer school finishes on August 24 with a grand gala concert at Kumyk Musical and Dramatic Theater, held as part of the traditional August Conference for Cultural Education Professionals.
