MAKHACHKALA, July 30 – RIA "Dagestan". Kumyk Theater in Makhachkala hosted the annual concert of the "Students of Russian Conservatories on the Stage of Dagestan Philharmonic" project, organized under the auspices of the republican Ministry of Culture.
The event brought together violinists, cellists, flutists and singers; most of the participants were graduates of G. Gasanov Makhachkala Music College joined by Dagestani students from Astrakhan, Rostov and Saratov Conservatories, the North Caucasian State Institute of Arts (Nalchik), the Academic Music College at Moscow Conservatory and Astrakhan Music College.
The S. Khrzhansky Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Honored Artist of Russia Zarifa Abdullaeva and People's Artist of Dagestan Diana Uvaysova, accompanied the solo and ensemble numbers.
Addressing the performers, Acting Minister of Culture Zarema Butaeva described them as the future of Dagestani academic music, spoke highly of their education at the country's top institutions and expressed her belief that they would return home to continue the traditions of Dagestani school of performance.
According to musicologist Irina Nakhtigal, the regional professional ensembles eagerly await the musicians' homecoming to begin a new phase in Dagestan's academic musical life.
